Annual Shinnecock Indian Pow Wow 2018 at Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
One of the largest Native American gatherings on the East Coast, the Shinnecock Indian Powwow has welcomed guests for more than 70 years. Enjoy daily dance competitions, entertainers, Native American arts and crafts and cultural enrichment opportunities for adults and children.
They begin at 3:00PM on Friday with the first Grand Entry of dancers from all over the Americas at 7:00PM. Each day they host competitive dancing, guest entertainment, prayers, ceremonial dances, the acknowledgement of sponsors and visiting dignitaries. Grand entry re-occurs each preceding day at 12:30PM and 7:00PM with the exception of Monday. They conclude Monday evening at 6pm with the awarding of prizes to competing drums and dancers. They also host 100 Native American arts, crafts and food vendors from all over the Americas.
