Jewish Genealogy Society of Long Island Meeting. Speaker: Dan Oren, Topic: Two Horses in Lublin. Dan Oren will describe how he used unanticipated local records to investigate genealogy and family history which revealed unthinkable discoveries. Dan Oren is Associate Professor of Psychiatry (Adjunct) at Yale University and president and founder of The Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland. He has worked for thirty years as a psychiatrist and faculty member at Yale University, the US National Institute of Mental Health, and the University of Rzeszow, Poland.
Oren's prior books include Joining The Club: A History of Jews and Yale and How to Beat Jet Lag: A Practical Guide for Air Travelers (co-authored), numerous scientific articles, and his new book is The Wedding Photo, a collection of family histories based on genealogy. This meeting is free and open to the public. Genealogy experts available at 1:30PM. Meetings include announcements and a tip of the month. |
