Farmingville Town Meeting: Alternatives To Isolated Confinement at The Grille In The Ville in Frasgmindville, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Hello everyone, Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement (CAIC) is helping to facilitate a town meeting in Farmingville to raise awareness about the issues and for information about what you can do. All are welcome, come on down. Let's eat, relax and raise awareness. We all have power to make a change, let's do it together.
Isolated confinement involves confining people in a cell for 22 to 24 hours a day without meaningful human contact, programming, or therapy. This practice is ineffective, counterproductive, unsafe and inhumane, and it causes people detained in these conditions to deteriorate psychologically, physically and socially. Despite these facts, New York utilizes isolated confinement at rates well above the national average. https://www.facebook.com/events/195503857612783/ |
