Summer of Science: Salt Marsh Explorers Children Ages 6-9 at Ernst Marine Conservation Center in Stony Brook, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Set at the Ernst Marine Conservation Center, located in the heart of an 88-acre wetland preserve at West Meadow Creek, Stony Brook, participants explore this unique breeding area for animals and plants including fiddler crabs, fish and marsh birds. We will discover the areas habitat exploring the water's edge to collect the many varieties of plants and animals that make up the marsh ecosystem. At the lab, we will observe adaptations using touch tanks, microscopes and magnifying glasses. We will also seine for fish, do fun crafts and use field guides to identify animal tracks.

Fee: $275.00 for week. Register by June 15, 2017 for the early-bird rate ($265.00). Minimum 10 participants, maximum 15. Two weeks notice is required for all cancellations without penalty. |
