Long Island Resounds Canstruction Handbell 10th Anniversary Fundraiser Concert 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Babylon in Babylon, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Long Island reSound will be participating in Canstruction Long Island's 10th anniversary event and we need your help. Come hear us ring some of your favorites, from the Beatles to the Beach Boys, while learning about this great charity event and helping us feed our neighbors in need.
Canstruction is a design/build competition where teams compete to create gigantic structures out of cans of food. These structures are exhibited for public viewing and afterwards all the cans of food are donated to local food banks (Long Island Cares, Island Harvest, The INN and The NEST at Nassau Community College) and then distributed throughout Long Island to our neighbors in need. Team Long Island reSound competed in last year's competition (that's our structure pictured) which yielded over 1,200 meals. It's a great cause and our ringers are excited to be in the competition again this year.
Our structure, for this year's competition, will take over 5,000 cans of food to build. At an average of $1.00 a can we need to raise approximately $5,000 so that we can buy all the cans needed. Absolutely 100% of any money donated goes to buying cans of food for our structure. Canstruction Long Island, Inc. is a recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, making your donation tax deductible.
