Robert Kennedy is the husband and father of three, and
candidate for Trustee in the village of Freeport. His vast
and broad experience in the management, engineering, and
private business will prove to be a great asset to the
community if elected this march 18, 2009. His experience as
a Veteran of the US Navy, former Vice President of one of
the largest management / engineering firms in the United
States, and currently President and CEO of a mechanical
contracting company for 25 years will serve well to
correctly fulfill the responsibilities of a trustee
position.
Robert Kennedy’s past responsibilities as “ VP Starrett
Property Services ” include the maintenance of equipment in
300 commercial and residential buildings in the tri-state
area, including Starrett City , Lands End, 1199 Plaza ,
Summit Plaza , The McAlpin, Taft Hotel , And many more.
Contract negotiations (Local 3 , Local 32-B) , specification
drawing, and review / approval of bids and contracts were
routinely performed while holding this position. A budget of
approximately $125,000,000.00 annually was required to
perform these services. Robert is a successful business
owner for over 25 years, possesses a “ 100 ton ” US Coast
Guard Masters license , and Developed / manages Cow Meadow
Park Marina. Cow Meadow Park Marina has recently undergone a
complete renovation at no cost to the tax payers and/or
Nassau county residents. This agreement was conceived by
Robert Kennedy and Nassau County and is now generating
income with sales tax benefits to Nassau County and the
Village of Freeport. The construction costs, engineering
fees, design fees, insurance, and daily operation is the
responsibility of Mr. Kennedy. This project benefits all
residents of Nassau County and the village of Freeport.
Robert enjoys a position of Flotilla Commander and Branch
Chief of Atlantic East U.S. coast Guard Auxiliary while
training young boaters and teaching the adult Safe Boating
Class to residents of the south shore of Long Island. In his
spare time he enjoys SCUBA diving, boating, fishing, flying,
horse-back riding, Giants and Yankees.
"Do not put off till tomorrow what you can do today" was
told to Robert by his father Thomas Kennedy (Retired NYPD
sergeant) and has been his motto ever since his mom Frances
Kennedy told him "listen to his father".
