About Dipamkara Meditation Center (DMC)
Long Island Center For Kadampa Buddhism
Dipamkara Meditation Center is located on the beautiful North Shore of Long Island, NY. It is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization offering weekly drop-in classes, beginner meditation classes, day courses, classes for children and families, day and weekend retreats, and in-depth study programs.
In our effort to help more and more people find inner peace and a meaningful life we are continuously working to expand our programs throughout the Long Island area and welcome your requests.
Dipamkara Meditation Center offers general program classes (classes open to everyone) that usually begin with a guided meditation. The meditation is followed by a 40 minute teaching on an aspect of the series topic for that month. After the teaching there is usually another brief guided meditation as well as a question and answer period. You don't need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend classes. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life. |
