Ross School
Ross School is a community of involved and passionate people. As an integral part of the larger Eastern End of Long Island, Ross School benefits from the participation of local community members in school activities, such as artist/student collaborations and studio visits, a film screening by a local director, or the opportunity to work with Hoops 4 Hope, a nonprofit founded by an East End resident that supports youth development in Southern Africa.
The Ross School community embodies the school's mission and an overall desire to learn about and effect positive change in the world. Ross students are economically, socially, and ethnically diverse individuals with a range of interests and abilities who thrive in a creative, supportive learning environment. Ross faculty members work closely with all students to ensure they acquire the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in our rapidly changing society. Ross teachers and mentors bring a wide variety of experiences from both academic and professional fields; 68% of the faculty hold advanced degrees. Another important component of the Ross community is the Ross School Parents Association, a vibrant group that supports the school through classroom involvement, educational programs, special events and fund-raising. As part of its mission, Ross School is connected to other learning communities, having ties to schools and other organizations in the local community, nationally and internationally. Additionally, through the Ross Institute, Ross School is part of a university consortium that aims to improve education for children around the world. |
