Two icons of Long Island's performing arts community The American Chamber Ensemble and Eglevsky Ballet are partnering with Hofstra University's Department of Music to present a concert titled The Music That Makes Me Dance a musical marriage of music and movement on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 7:00PM at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus
This concert is concert is presented by the Hofstra University Music Department and is sponsored by Arts Reach Fund at Long Island Community Foundation and The D'Addario Foundation. The program includes music by Long Island composers Jonathan Russ and Andres Maldonado, as well as by Mendelssohn, Shostakovich, Gershwin, Porter and Piazzolla.
ACE performers will be Director and pianist Marilyn Lehman, violinist Eriko Sato, cellist Chris Finckel and soprano Karen Lehman DiMartino. This performance will also feature special guest artist Ashley Tuttle, former principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, with choreography by Maurice Brandon Curry, Samuel Kunzman and Eric Lewis Thielman of the Eglevsky Ballet. |
