Canta Libre
Canta Libre ("Free Song") is an extraordinary harp quintet, was founded in 2002 by flutist Sally Shorrock to foster the performance and enjoyment of the musical literature specifically written for flute, harp and strings.
Considered experts in this ephemeral, rare style of chamber music with its origins in France, Canta Libre was recently featured at The American Harp Society 50th Anniversary National Conference, has appeared at Lincoln Center, on WNYC at The Green Space, The Music Festival of the Hamptons, Barge Music, Concerts at One at Trinity Church in Manhattan, WLIW TV, National Public Radio of Long Island and The Brooklyn Public Library.
The ensemble's latest CD was designated “the best new U.S. release” by BBC Music Magazine in March of 2011. Canta Libre is represented by Jeffrey James Arts Consulting. Canta Libre concerts are ADA accessible. |
