Description: |
Hard Luck Cafe is a monthly concert series presented by The Folk Music Society of Huntington, every third Thursday in our Sky Room Cafe. Each concert opens with an open mike.
With a well-crafted mix of folk, rock, classical and funk, Long Island-based Miles to Dayton brings an honest message of love, life and laughter to each performance. The M2D recipe is simple: Four-part vocal harmony textures, solid songwriting, improvisational violin and cello and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew.
Singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist Robert Bruey grew up in rural New England and lives on Long Island'/s North Fork. Bruey's roots and how they have helped to shape him are reflected in the original music on his CD, Silver Burning Sky, and are even more evident in his live performances, during which he shares his deepest emotions with audiences.
All are welcome to perform (time permitting). Priority given to performers who could not mike at previous month's Open Mike. Random drawing if overflow of signers
Open mikers must sign up before 7:20PM. Sign up does not start before 7:00PM. The principal performers will begin at 8:30PM. |
