Professional Development Workshop: Choice and Responsibility During The Holocaust at Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County on Welwyn Preserve, Glen Cove, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County (HMTC), in cooperation with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), presents a one-day professional development workshop on "Choice and Responsibility during the Holocaust." The workshop is open to middle school, high school and community college educators, as well as pre-service educators and administrators.
Using guidelines from USHMM for teaching the Holocaust, as well as their online exhibition "Some Were Neighbors," we will share lesson and activity ideas for educators to use in their classes. Participants will each receive a copy of "The World Must Know: The History of the Holocaust as Told in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum." Educators will also receive a certificate of participation at the completion of the workshop. Coffee, tea and a light lunch will be provided.
