Temple Am Echad Lynbrook
The South Shore Reform Jewish Congregation
Temple Am Echad is an open and affirming Reform congregation welcoming families, singles, Jews of all races, cultures, sexual orientations and gender expressions, as well as Jews-by choice and interfaith families. It is our belief that the fabric of our Temple community will be enriched by your participation.
Temple Am Echad represents the successful merger of two south shore congregations, Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook and Temple Sinai of Long Island.
Temple Emanu-El of Lynbrook was born in 1920 out of a desire to provide a Jewish education to the children of the area. Begun as a cooperative effort, Am-Echad continues that volunteer tradition today.
Founded in 1951, Temple Sinai of Long Island started as a twenty family offshoot of another area synagogue. A building was acquired and a religious school was started immediately.
As a member of the Union For Reform Judaism (URJ), we subscribe to the open, inclusive and progressive tenets of an ever-changing and growing Liberal Judaism. |
