Kristallnach Commemoration Re-Dedication of Holocaust Torah Scroll at the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Center in East Rockaway, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
Kristallnach Commemoration and re-dedication of a Torah scroll that was rescued from Germany where it was buried just prior to the outbreak of "The Night of Broken Glass." Two Bar Mitzvah boys raised funds to restore a 170-year old Torah scroll that was rescued from Germany, where it had been buried just prior to the outbreak of "The Night of Broken Glass" on November 9, 1938. Now, 77 years later, it will be re-dedicated. Rabbi Dan Wigodsky, who restored the scroll, will talk about the restoration process.
Presented by The Torah Restoration Project in cooperation with the International Synagogue at JFK, the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County and the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Center. Generously underwritten by Farrell Fritz, P.C.
Admission is free but RSVP in advance is requested. To RSVP, register online at www.TorahRP.org or call 516-232-5946. Photo ID is required for admittance.
