About Seatuck Environmental Association
The Seatuck Environmental Association is a not-for-profit, member-supported, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the conservation of Long Island wildlife and environment. Charles D. Webster and a host of prominent New York conservationists incorporated the organization in 1989. It was founded to continue work of the Seatuck Research Program (SRP), an un-incorporated partnership that had been formed in 1980 to conduct research on and around the Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge in Islip, New York.
Seatuck's signature events include the Eco Carnival, the Seatuck Birding Challenge, the Bats and Brews Benefit and the Owl Prowl 5K. Each of these unique events has grown into a beloved annual happening. In addition to generating income for the organization, these events also give Seatuck a venue for introducing new people to its many other offerings and afford corporate sponsors the opportunity to support Seatuck while reaching thousands of conservation-minded Long Islanders. |
