Summer Garden Festival 2016 at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
This new summer festival features live musical performances by Banjo Nickaru and His Western Schooches, family band, Strummin' and Drummin' and the roots-rock band the Hambones.
Kid's crafts, jugglers, dance groups and environmental programs, FREE self-guided visits of Coe Hall. The festival is a collaborative effort between Planting Fields Foundation and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Once inside the park all activities are free.
Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park
Long Island's Premier Public Arboretum and Historic Site
A former Gold Coast estate, the arboretum is comprised of 409 acres of greenhouses, rolling lawns, formal gardens, woodland paths, and outstanding plant collections. The original historic estate buildings remain including the 65 room Tudor Revival mansion, Coe Hall, which is open for tours spring through fall. The grounds, landscaped by the Olmsted Brothers of Brookline, Massachusetts, are spectacularly beautiful year round. Educational programs are offered for children and adults. Planting Fields is an ideal location for wedding photography. |
