Africa Sub-Saharan Diversity Art Exhibit 2016 at Hofstra University Emily Lowe Gallery in Hempstead, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
This is the opening day of the exhibition: Africa: Sub-Saharan Diversity, which runs until August 12, 2016. Drawn exclusively from the Museum's Collections, this dynamic exhibition exemplifies the rich diversity of cultures across West and Central Africa. Themes of protection, prestige, and masquerade are illustrated through selected masks, weapons, sculptures, and jewelry from 25 ethnic cultures. Additional exhibition funding has been provided by New York Community Bank Foundation.
