Description: |
Origami Heaven 2015 Art Exhibit at the Charles B. Wang Center Skylight Gallery of Stony Brook University, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.
Origami Heaven demonstrates the extraordinary power and potential of contemporary origami. In the hands of four international artists, what was once considered a Japanese children's craft has become a global art form. Today, paper is being transformed into breathtaking painting, sophisticated sculpture, large-scale installations and conceptual works that express a range of bold statements and beautiful ideas.
Returning to the Charles B. Wang Center for its tenth year, Origami Heaven celebrates the work of artists Jule Waibel (Germany), Wonju Seo (Korea/USA), George Hart (USA) and Fatima Shakil (India) and examines how they have transformed and elevated the art of origami.
