Join us for an eight session parent education program presented by the Family Health and Wellness Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Learn new, positive skills that will replace ineffective behaviors and parenting practices. Each session is designed with hands-on activities so that participants have the opportunity to practice these skills.
To recognize your commitment to the Parenting Skills Workshop Series, certificates will be given out at the last session. Participants who attend all 8 sessions will receive a certificate of completion; all others will receive a certificate of participation reflecting the number of hours attended. Participants must pre-register for this program. Please let us know if you need special accommodations at least two weeks prior to scheduled workshop.
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE)
A Non-Profit Community Education Agency
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is a non-profit community education agency established in 1917. We are affiliated with Cornell University as part of the national land grant university system started in 1862. We are educators, researchers, specialists and support personnel who are dedicated to making Suffolk County a desirable place to live and work. CCE's professional team helps preserve our county's vast heritage, protect our eco-systems, support families and provide our youth opportunities for community service and research-based education in science, technology, engineering and math.
Our experts offer local and affordable skill training for educators, youth leaders, human service personnel, and parents. Our Family Health and Wellness educators help strengthen families and address critical issues facing them today. These programs have a cost/savings benefit for organizations throughout the county. We work directly with farmers and fishermen who rely on our research, guidance and assistance to protect the environment and to promote the economic health of these vital heritage industries. Our 4-H Youth Development programs and camps get thousands of Suffolk youth "unplugged" and out into their communities while participating in fun, hands-on learning activities taught by professionals.
To accomplish our mission, we partner with all levels of government, Cornell University, non-profits, and community groups.
Cornell Cooperative Extension is funded in part by Suffolk County through the office of the County Executive and the County Legislature. |
