Women Not Victims - Moving Beyond Sexualized Atrocities During Genocide - One Day Symposium at Nassau Community College in garden City, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County presents a symposium, "Women, Not Victims: Moving Beyond Sexualized Atrocities During Genocide." The symposium will include multicultural, interdisciplinary, intergenerational, global and contemporary approaches to the issues of sexualized atrocities (rape, sexual slavery, etc...) militarism, war and genocide. Dr. Najwa Nabti, a legal expert on genocide and sexual atrocities, will give a keynote address on "Courage and Conviction: How the Testimony of Survivors of Sexual Violence has Shaped International Law." A one-day symposium about sexualized atrocities during genocide.

The mission of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County is to teach the history of the Holocaust and its lessons through education and community outreach. We teach about the dangers of antisemitism, racism, bullying and all other manifestations of intolerance. We promote resistance to prejudice and advocate respect for every human being. |
