Long Island Food Conference 2015 Growing and Eating For A More Sustainable Future at Hofstra University in Hempstead, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
This seminal event is a forum to educate people about growing food, making healthy and sustainable food choices and incorporating broader policies and programs that affect our food sources and our communities.
The North Shore Land Alliance, in partnership with Hofstra University, the Long Island Group of the Sierra Club and other local representatives from the Long Island Food Coalition, are in the midst of planning for the 2015 Long Island Food Conference which will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Hofstra University. This seminal event is a forum to educate people about growing food, making healthy and sustainable food choices and incorporating broader policies and programs that affect our food sources and our communities.
We are inviting local businesses to partner with us to make this event possible. In exchange for your support, you will have the opportunity to promote your business and enhance the visibility of your brand among existing and prospective customers. Additionally, the Coalition is seeking workshop proposals from local educators and professionals who want to share their knowledge and expertise with a diverse group of attendees.
The 2015 Conference is expected to draw nearly 1,000 attendees including educators, farmers, advocates, policy regulators, parents, students, concerned citizens and non-profit organizations from across Long Island including Brooklyn and Queens. It will feature interactive educational workshops led by expert panelists, a riveting keynote by Stephen Ritz, exhibits from local businesses, networking opportunities and much more. |
