Long Island Connected Educators Summit 2015 Educational Conference at Weldon E. Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
The Long Island Connected Educators Summit is intended to bring together passionate educators who firmly believe that innovation is essential to increasing student engagement and achievement. This event will provide attendees with the inspiration, strategies, and the confidence to actively pursue a transformation in teaching and learning practices.
Opening
The Meet-up will be open, not by a keynote speaker but a conversation between participants. Facilitated by Bill and Tony, the opening conversation will invite participants to engage in conversation addressing key questions/ideas in education.
Session 1, 2
This Meet-up is unique in terms of format. We are offering two formats for presenters, the traditional presentation (45 minutes) and conversation format (45 minutes).
Session 3 The "Un-Conference" Experience
Some of the most powerful learning takes place informally. Between sessions 2 and 3, participants will build the schedule for final session. Have an idea you want to talk about? Why not stand-up and go for it.
Closing
The Meet-up will be closed, not by a keynote speaker, but a closing conversation that invites every participant's perspective and voice. The closing conversation will involve participants engaged in conversation addressing questions or concerns that have arisen as a result of being the first LI Connected Educators' Meet-up.
