Holocaust and Human Rights In The Classroom Strategies and Cross-Connections at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York.
This professional development workshop examines Survivors' testimonies as primary resources for lesson plans created to study the Holocaust and Human Rights topics.
"Holocaust and Human Rights in the Classroom" Strategies and Cross-Connections" is a professional development workshop that will be given by Dr. Marlene W. Yahalom, Director of Education at the American Society for Yad Vashem.
This workshop examines Survivors' testimonies as primary resources for lesson plans created to study the Holocaust and Human Rights topics. Participants will leave the workshop with materials and resources developed by the International School for Holocaust Studies of Yad Vashem. Dr. Yahalom will also incorporate materials on character building and bullying.
There is no fee to attend this workshop but please RSVP in advance. Light refreshments will be served. The museum will be open before the workshop for self-guided tours.
