Association for the Help of Retarded Children Nassau 2014 Annual AHRC Walk at the Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Long Island, New York.
The Annual AHRC Walk is expected to bring together more than 1,000 participants at Eisenhower Park on September 14, 2014. Participate in the 5K Fun Run added this year by popular demand or the AHRC WALK. Bring your whole family and enjoy games, refreshments, face painting, and much, much more. There will be music, free snacks and refreshments all morning long.
Your participation in the AHRC Walk adn Fun Run helps raise important funds for AHRC Foundation which supports local programs serving people with developmental disabilities and their family members. We provide residential, vocational, clinical and day rehabilitation services plus other vital resources helping people with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.
Check-in begins at 7:30AM
Run begins at 8:30AM
The 5K Fun Run will take place at Eisenhower Park, Field 6A, on Sunday, September 14, 2014, the same day as the AHRC Walk. All runners in the community are welcome to sign up and be part of this new tradition that will kick off the AHRC Walk.
This is a family friendly Fun Run, so it doesn't matter your level or ability. Anyone who loves to run can participate. All participants are able to register for the 5K Fun Run and stay for the duration of the AHRC WALK to follow.
You will run a 3.1mile course. This is an un-timed run.
Please note: Walkers are not permitted on the course during the Fun Run. The AHRC Walk, on the same course, will begin at 10:30AM.

Our mission is to teach, support and advocate for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to make life choices, exercise independence and develop responsibility. Our membership numbering over 9,000 is vital to our ability to continue to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities today and in future generations. It is through our collective voice that we influence our elected officials who decide how much will be spent on programs for children and adults in Association for the Help of Retarded Children Nassau County Chapter programs. Your membership is very important in our effort to continue to serve these individuals and their families.
The mission of the Association for the Help of Retarded Children Nassau County Chapter is to teach, support and advocate for children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to make life choices, exercise independence and develop responsibility. Association for the Help of Retarded Children Nassau County Chapter encourages all individuals to fulfill their dreams and become productive members of the community. This is accomplished by providing an array of individual and family supports.
