About The Long Beach Martin Luther King Center
The Long Beach Martin Luther King Center, Inc. intends to create a community both inside and outside of the Center and the North Park area of the City by engaging participants, parents, staff, directors and community partners in service projects as part of the MLK Human/Social Services and Education Programs. The staff and managers of the Long Beach MLK Center upholds the agency's mission by fostering an authentic culture of service from day one.
The Martin Luther King Center has been on the ground servicing the needs of the residents in the surrounding community due to the severe damages caused by Superstorm Sandy. The American Red Cross Disaster Relief team has been here providing valuable help.
Residents may come to the center to receive information on who to contact in regards to getting their homes repaired, food and water, clothing, showers and laundry service. Shipments of donations are being made weekly and we encourage all residents to come out and receive what they need. We are making deliveries to senior citizens housing and complexes where residents are unable to leave their homes. |
