Comedy Night at the Plaza Cinema and Media Arts Center in Patchogue, Long Island, New York.
The Plaza will host a live stand-up comedy show featuring the funniest up-and-coming and veteran comics on Long Island. This month's performers are Hilary Schwartz, Manny Erias, Howard Newman, Mike Maione and Joe Currie. Presented by the Wilshire Comedy Group and hosted by Alan Streisfeld.
About Hilary Schwartz
Ranging from personal subjects to social commentary, Hilary Schwartz's stand-up comedy is intelligent, dark, honest, and somehow still adorable. She was recently runner-up in the New York March Madness Comedy Competition. She has been heard on XM Radio and seen on MTV. Hilary has been featured in TimeOut New York, Heeb Magazine, and The Washington Post. Hilary has opened for established comedians, including Dave Attell, Cory Kahaney, and Jonathan Katz. She was selected to perform at the 2010 and 2011 Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, was a finalist in the DC Improv's comedy contest and appeared in the long-running San Francisco show, Kung Pao Kosher Comedy.
About Howard Newman
"High-Powered Howard" has headlined nationally on the comedy club circuit for over 15 years, performing regularly at Caroline's, Stand-up New York and the Funny Bone and has appeared on MTV and Comedy Central. Howard is also a Certified Personal Trainer home-based at New York Health and Racquet Club for the past five years, specializing in senior fitness.
About Mike Maione
Magic that tickles is more than a slogan. It describes the effect Mike's magic has on his audiences. Simply put, Mike's magic makes people laugh. It doesn't matter whether you're eight or 80, Mike will find your funny bone. Mike is making his 3rd appearance at the Plaza.
About Manny Erias
Manny is a newcomer to the comedy scene and has performed at Governors and the Brokerage Comedy Clubs.
About Joe Currie
Joe is a national headliner who performs at all the major clubs and casinos across the country. His quick wit and everyday insights makes him one of the most requested comics today. |
