Learn all about the acclaimed summer arts day camp. A chance for families to learn about the more than 40 programs at Usdan, the renowned children's summer arts camp, in the Huntington area.
A Usdan Visit and Information Session is an excellent way to learn about our many summer programs for children ages 4-18, and what makes them both fun and educational. We begin with a guided walk through our 200-acre woodland campus, introducing the music, art, dance, theater, writing, chess, nature and recreation departments. Our administrative leadership will share a few ideas about what shapes the Usdan program, from where we draw our inspiration and what makes a summer at Usdan unlike any other. We will explain the enrollment process, and you will be given a chance to talk in small groups, or individually, with our knowledgeable team of arts faculty and staff members. We end the visit with a self-guided walk and exploration of the grounds.

Usdan - Summer Camp For The Arts
America's Premier Arts Day Camp on Long Island
Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts is a camp designed to provide opportunities for children to develop artistic skills, regardless of their level of talent. The camp's students work with a professional faculty, and they participate in public performances and exhibits that reflect the high standards to which Usdan aspires. At Usdan, students to have the freedom to explore, the structure to advance, and the inspiration to collaborate. The faculty's goal is for students to embrace the arts as a companion for life. Usdan's philosophy is reflected in the phrase: "Lose yourself for a summer and find yourself for a lifetime."
Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts is the nation's preeminent not-for-profit day camp. Usdan has been declared a "Best Of" camp by TimeOutNY/Kids, and by NY Metro Parents, and the camp has been profiled in feature articles in "The New York Times" and in "Time Magazine". Usdan' mission is to provide children with the arts as a lifetime companion. This mission is realized through the inspiration of a world-class faculty and the camaraderie of fellow students whose bond is their love of the arts.
Usdan is situated on a 140-acre woodland campus in Huntington, Long Island. Each summer, 1,600 students, ages 4-18, travel to Usdan daily on buses that depart from neighborhoods throughout the New York metropolitan area.
The camp provides programs for students regardless of advancement. Admission is based on interest. Some programs may require an audition and/or interview. Usdan welcomes students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. Usdan is a beneficiary agency of UJA-Federation of New York. Daily transportation to and from Usdan is by bus (required).
Usdan' Season is June 27 through August 12, 2016, for the 7-week session; June 27 -July 22, 2016, for the 4-week session; June 27 - July 15, 2016, for the 3-week session A; July 25 - August 12, 2016, for the 3-week session B. The camp is open Monday through Friday. Students are enrolled for either the 7-week, 4-week, or 3-week sessions. No fee reductions are made for absences. (Closed Monday, July 4, 2016.) |
