At the 2nd Annual Pink Pearl Gala on Friday, March 4, 2016 the North Fork Breast Health Coalition will recognize the doctors of Eastern Long Island Hematology Oncology with the Pink Pearl Spirit Award. The gala was named for the late Pearl Philindas, past president of the coalition. The dinner and award ceremony will be held from 6-9 PM in the elegant ballroom at East Wind, 5720 Route 25A, Wading River.
With offices in Riverhead and Southampton, Eastern Long Island Hematology Oncology includes Doctors Louis J. Avvento, Alexander Zuhoski and Deepali Sharma. They offer a team approach in addressing the complex care issues of cancer patients. The practice works with patients and referring physicians from Eastern Long Island Hospital, Southampton Hospital and Peconic Bay Medical Center.
News 12 Long Island Reporter Shari Einhorn will emcee the event. She often covers health-related stories for the regional television station. Last March, she emceed the inaugural gala, which was very successful with about 180 people having attended.
Seating is available for $95.00 per person. The North Fork Breast Health Coalition is working to encourage and assist in the prevention, early intervention, and cure of breast cancer through advocacy, awareness, networking, and research. The funds we raise go directly to programs such as "Lend a Helping Hand",which provides grants to patients on the North Fork who are being treated for breast cancer. |
