About Association for Habilitation and Residential Care (AHRC)
Suffolk County Long Island New York Chapter
Association for Habilitation and Residential Care Suffolk County Chapter provides programs and services for over 2,500 men, women and children with developmental disabilities. Our staff numbers over 1000 dedicated individuals. Our membership includes close to 2,000 families, and our support base of corporate and private supporters continues to grow, helping Association for the Help of Retarded Children Suffolk County Chapter provide individualized and dynamic opportunities for the individuals we serve.
Association for Habilitation and Residential Care Suffolk County Chapter is like a large extended family whose members are our staff and program participants. We are here to offer solutions, advice, comfort and support.
From a handful of volunteers, AHRC Suffolk (a chapter of NYSARC, Inc.) has grown to be one of the region's most trusted organizations and a leading voice on behalf of intellectually challenged children, adults and their families. Our school, day habilitation, community residences and on- and off-premises employment opportunities provide a comprehensive range of programs and services, delivered by an experienced caring staff. At heart, AHRC Suffolk remains very much a family, a community of parents, teaching and health care professionals, volunteers, business partners and supporters bound by a common goal: to provide a life of opportunity for the intellectually and physically disabled. We invite you to join our community and share our vision for the future.
We cheer for those who want to learn. We support those who want to be part of their community. We respect those who want to work and contribute to society. AHRC Suffolk, mentally challenged, retarded programs, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities.
