About USS Cares
USS Cares is a tax exempt 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focus' on raising funds for local charities and children in need in the greater-Long Island area as well as charitable efforts in Grenada.
Over the last year we raised nearly $10,000 through a number of very successful events such as: Fall Harvest Fest, Comedy Night, and the Summer Yard Sale. In addition, we provided back packs to disadvantaged children in local shelters, coats were collected and distributed to Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the gift tree provided Christmas gifts to children living in a local shelter.
Funds were distributed for a number of some great causes such as; local battered women shelters, funding some SGU med students to go to Haiti to provide some basic medical care, two local families (one effected by a debilitating childhood disease and the other surviving a tragic traffic accident) just to name a few. |
