Walk for Beauty began in 1994 as a community effort to raise breast cancer awareness and to establish a fund providing wigs and prostheses for cancer patients. Since its inception, the Walk for Beauty has raised over 1 million for breast cancer research at Stony Brook University. All event proceeds go toward research and patient support; there are no administrative fees, and all committee members are volunteers. |
