Alternatives For Children
To provide the highest quality special and regular education programs and services to children with disabilities and typically developing peers. Education, medical, pediatric rehabilitation, and support services are integrated to ensure the comprehensive needs of the child and family are met.
In line with its mission, Alternatives For Children's overarching philosophy reflects our longstanding commitment to children, their individual needs, and our own high standards; assuring that children and their families have the tools and experiences necessary to build the foundation that will support them for the rest of their lives.
We provide educational, therapeutic, and family services that enable families to respond to the needs of their child, and the child to reach their potential. As Special Education/Early Childhood educators, pediatric therapists, and support staff, we have the unique opportunity of providing children and their families with educational experiences in line with the tenets of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA); the provision of an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) under the Early Intervention Program, provided in the child's "natural environment", or a Preschool Special Education Individual Education Plan (IEP) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).
Using the Creative Curriculum for Preschool, teachers are able to provide the highest quality special and regular education programs and services to children with disabilities and their typically developing peers. In addition, experienced therapists and support staff provide a full complement of related and support services that support the child in their environment. |
