Rabies Clinic and Pet Fair 2015 at Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
The annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic is being held in partnership with the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association. There is a nominal $10.00 cash only fee per vaccination and a limit of three pets vaccinated per household. Pregnant pets cannot be vaccinated. For the safety of all participants, cats must be brought in carriers and dogs must be leashed. All dogs must be licensed. You must bring the current license or the purchase of a new one ($10 for spayed/neutered dogs; $18 for non-spayed/non-neutered dogs) will be required. If applicable, proof of spay/neuter must be presented. Please pre-register your pets for the Rabies clinic in advance by calling 516-785-5220.
At the town's shelter we say "don't shop, adopt". By adopting, you can provide a "forever home" to a loving cat or dog. We are waiving all adoption fees on October 11th, making the joy of pet ownership more affordable! All pets adopted will receive free spay/neuter, micro-chipping and required vaccinations.
Becoming separated from your pet can be a heartbreaking experience. If your pet is lost, a microchip can help you find it quickly. You can have your pet micro-chipped at the annual Rabies Clinic and Pet Fair for just $25.00 cash only.

The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter boasts one of the highest adoption rates in the nation. Come tour the Animal Shelter and bring the abiding love of a pet into your home! All pets are adopted at your own risk, and we do advise you to have your newly adopted pet examined by your veterinarian. All adopted pets will be spayed or neutered, will receive all required innoculations and will be microchipped, all free of charge.
