Description: |
This year, Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons will presetn a power point program in the Nature Center all about Long Island's turtles, how you can help them, and what Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons does. Meet a variety of turtles and tortoises during Quogue Wildlife Refuge's Annual World Turtle Day Celebration. A simple craft for children will be available at end of program. A program for adults and families.
About Quogue Wildlife Refuge
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 300 acre non- profit Nature Preserve that is open daily, free of charge, from sunrise to sunset.
The mission of is to serve as a responsible land steward of the Refuge property and its natural resources, while promoting, implementing, and supporting environmental education.
Quogue Wildlife Refuge is a 305-acre nature preserve nestled in the Village of Quogue. There are seven miles of nature trails located among a variety of habitats, including the Pine Barrens and deciduous forests, freshwater ponds, carnivorous and cranberry bogs, and the ecologically rare Dwarf Pines. The Refuge also serves as home to permanently injured, non-releasable wildlife, including a bald eagle, red fox, bobcat, owls, falcons and hawks. |
