Description: |
The Empire Galaxie Car Club is holding its 8th Annual Car Cruise fund raiser on April 6, 2014. Again this year we are helping injured veterans by raising money for the American Vet Dogs (Veterans K9 Corps) organization in conjunction with the Guide Dog Foundation of Smithtown, NY. They supply our wounded veterans with guide dogs and training to help them with their injuries and to assimilate back into society.
We are requesting your assistance of a Gift Certificate, Gift Basket, or any other merchandise or item from your company that we can raffle off. A check made out to American Vet Dogs would also be accepted as a direct donation. We are also looking for one or more grand prizes to be featured. 100 percent of proceeds and all of our efforts go to American Vet Dogs (Veterans K9 Corps). Americas Vet Dogs is a 501 C 3 certified charitable non-profit organization.
Our car cruise has become a very well known cruise that is the longest classic car cruise held on Long Island. Participants purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win the donated prizes. We pick some winning numbers at the start of the cruise in Farmingdale at Airport Plaza. Over 100 classic, special interest and "celebrity" cars left Airport Plaza with a police escort at the start of the 2013 cruise. The participants then cruise out to Riverhead to meet more east end cruisers and have a short coffee break. The convoy then proceeds to Orient Point Beach Park (weather permitting) for a final rest stop and a group picture on the beach. We will then proceed to the American Legion Hall #803 in Southold near Orient Point for the conclusion of the cruise and the rest of the prizes, including Grand Prizes, are awarded at the hall.
As a thank you for your donation we would also gladly accept items suitable to be placed in goodie bags that will be given to all the participants on the cruise. We will be filling about 100 goodie bags and an item of your choosing can be inserted to promote your business. These items can be anything from a flyer to a coupon, pen, key chain or whatever you distribute to promote your business. We appreciate your support and want to let all of the participants know that you supported our event and Americas Vet Dogs. This flyer will also list all of the businesses that made donations. We would need the donated item(s) by Friday March 28th in order to be able to include them in the goodie bags and get your business listed in the event flyer.
We raised over $7,000.00 for Vet Dogs from our 2013 Classic Car Cruise and hope to surpass that with your help for our 2014 event. We appreciate your consideration of this request. |
